ABOUT ME

Hello, I'm Grace...
Through enjoying a childhood outdoors with Scouting, I grew up appreciating a landscape for it's kindling availability and hammock hanging ability, but this also raised an love for staying outside whatever the weather, and most importantly, still enjoying it! A spell of illness in my teens then furthered my appreciation for how therapeutic a green space can be, and the necessity for everyone to realise the benefits and comfort a garden can provide.
I read Landscape and garden design at Writtle University College, and have had a lifelong love of gardens, and the benefits they provide people. Through studying at Writtle, landscape and garden history has transformed from an intrigue to a passion; I strive to always see below the surface and discover the stories a place has to tell.
Since finishing Uni I have worked at a private garden design and build company, which gave me the opportunity to work on Chelsea gardens in September 2021, and May 2022 ( an incredible, but knackering experience). I am now in a role within Braintree district council, working as a Landscape Projects officer, and have just applied to start an Urban Design Masters in September 2023.
Studying at Uni made me realise, I quite like writing, therefore I hope that this blog can scratch that itch.
